Supporters, Legacies and Gift Aid

Supporters, Legacies and Gift Aid

Howden Civic Society relies on its supporters for continuing to donate towards the operating costs of storing and displaying its heritage collection. Although grants are available for specific projects, day to day expenses such as rent need to be paid from the funds generated by donations and/or legacies.

Supporters of the Heritage Collection

The two main ways you can help are to become:

  • a friend of the Howden Heritage Collection – by donating a monthly or annual sum you would be directly helping to keep the programme of exhibitions open, operating and developing;
  • a volunteer – you could volunteer to take part in the activities of the Society including its projects. How about leading a walk around the Blue Plaque Trail or assisting in one of the various projects and occasional exhibitions during the year?

You can ask for further details by contacting the Civic Society at the postal address of by emailing info@howdencivicsociety.co.uk

Legacies

As a registered charity (No. 510260) you can name Howden Civic Society and its heritage activities as the beneficiary of a gift. By doing so, you give us the flexibility to be able to use your gift in the most appropriate manner to promote the charitable purposes of the Society. We guarantee to use the gift in the best and most effective way. Contact us for a copy of the document “Wills and Living Trusts: An overview of Gifts provided through estates”.

Gift Aid

By completing gift aid information you can enable the Society to claim gift aid from the Government on all small donations, larger donations and membership fees. This forms a valuable and significant source of revenue to the Society at no cost to yourselves. Ask for a gift aid form from the Society.
