Membership of Howden Civic Society is open to all who are interested in actively furthering the purposes of the Society. You can see the purposes described in the Constitution and the powers that the Society has to implement those purposes.
Full membership can be obtained either as an individual (currently £10 per annum) or as a couple (currently £17 per annum). Junior membership is available for under 18s for which no fee is payable. The subscriptions of a member joining the Society in the three months preceding the first of January in any year shall be regarded as covering membership for the Society’s year commencing on the first of January following the date of joining the Society.
Fees are payable on or before the first of January each year and can be paid by standing order, BACS, cheque or cash. Details of the payment methods are set out on the membership application and renewal forms which are available from the Society either by post, email or in person at a meeting.
Membership entitles you to being involved in the activities of the Society as a voting member and as an Officer. The Society welcomes new members and encourages participation in activities according to the wishes of the member. The meetings not only benefit members and their guests through interesting and varied presentations but also offer a social meeting with like-minded people.
