Happy New Year to one and all. Our programme of Social Meetings for 2020 starts on Wednesday 8th January. This one is on the subject of the Hull and Barnsley Railway. This used to pass through Howden at South Howden Station. Brian Crowther will be describing how the railway started, how it was built, where it went and why it closed. The meeting starts at 2.00 p.m. and will be held in the Masonic Hall, Selby Road, Howden, DN14 7JW.
Admission to our meetings is open to members, guests and visitors. There is a small fee to pay – £1 for current members and £2 for visitors – which includes light refreshments.
